The Disappearance of Brittney Wood
In May 2012, 19-year-old Brittney Nicole Wood vanished from Mobile, Alabama. What began as a missing person's case quickly spiraled into one of the most disturbing family scandals in the state's history.
Brittney was last seen leaving her mother's home, reportedly heading to meet her uncle, Donnie Holland. Holland was later found dead from a gunshot wound, a death that was ruled a suicide. But what came next would shock the entire community: Brittney's disappearance exposed the existence of a multi-generational sex abuse ring within her own extended family.
Over the following months, several relatives were arrested and convicted on charges related to child sexual abuse. Brittney, who many believe was both a victim and a potential whistleblower, was never found. Despite years of investigation, her case remains unsolved.
More than a decade later, the search for answers continues. Her family, investigators, and advocates still hold out hope that someone, somewhere, knows what really happened to Brittney Wood.
